First Communion Class PDF Print E-mail
Ministry Head:  Tony Zuelsdorf
Mission:   To prepare children to receive their first communion.  The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is a special gift of grace and spiritual nourishment from our Heavenly Father. The apostle Paul stressed that this sacrament is to be given only to those who recognize the significance and power in the Body and Blood of Christ.  Our Savior’s Lutheran Church provides Communion Preparation Classes for children in Fourth Grade and up prior to their first communion. Classes are taught for five consecutive Sundays during the Sunday School hour during Lent. These children will then receive their First Communion together with their family on Maundy Thursday evening.

Sunday morning Sunday school for 7th grade students is a strong Bible-based curriculum stressing the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For the 8th grade students, Sunday morning classes are for preparing for Confirmation in the Spring.
